Finding “Me” Time – How times of Retreat can Refresh!

Hello!  As we enter our crazy busy wedding season, I have been reflecting on what I do to help me relax, unwind, and reduce stress.  Don’t get me wrong,  I absolutely LOVE what I do.  But there is a lot of stress that goes along with owning your own business, and filming live events.  As Meg Simone mentioned in a recent post, “have you done anything for yourself?”

In the beginning of our venture we focused so much on getting the business going that we forgot about ourselves and our family life suffered a bit.  If you find yourself forgetting about YOU then you need to stop and think about the hobbies you enjoyed before becoming a business owner.  Make sure you find some time to enjoy what you once loved.  Getting back to these hobbies will help you relax and get more focused on your business.  I find that when I am so wrapped up in work and neglect *Me,* I don’t seem to focus as well and my work suffers.

I encourage you to take just 30 minutes each day and do something you enjoy that has nothing to do with your business.  I know, I know, you are probably thinking, “ummm, and when am I going to find the time?”  Trust me, if I can run a business, care for 5 kids, 2 dogs and a cat, have a homemade dinner on the table 5 out of 7 nights and still squeeze in 30 min to take a walk, or read a book, you can do it too.

Cheers to You!
