“…she now manages 6 teams of filmmakers that shoot over 100 weddings a year, and she doesn’t film a single one of them. Her weekends are available to be with her kids and family…”
Taryn Pollock began her professional career in Television. Once she realized that being the next Katie Couric was not for her, she made her way into Radio Advertising Sales. After 6 years in the corporate industry, she “married” her experience in TV with her Sales and Marketing expertise to create Serendipity Cinematography in 2005. Pollock says, “If you told me ten years ago that I was going to own my own business I would have told you that you were crazy… 10 years later we have shot and edited over 1300 wedding films. The funny thing is that I don’t shoot or edit our wedding films. While I know how to shoot, I learned very early on that my passion was the business. I love focusing on the strategy of the business and the sales and marketing aspect.”
Serendipity Cinematography has won the “Best Wedding Videographer” award eight times from Arizona Bride Magazine . They have also won the prestigious “Top Of The Tiara” Best overall wedding vendor 2 years in a row. Pollock is one of the founding members of the WIPA Wedding Industry Professionals Association Chapter in Arizona. This association focuses on education and raising the bar for quality and professionalism in the wedding industry. In the past year she has also launched Wedding Business Expansion coaching taryn-pollock.com where she focuses on coaching Wedding Professionals on expanding their businesses.
How To Build Teams So You Can Work Less And Make More!!
Pollock will be presenting on the power of creating teams, and learning to develop a business, not work for the business. Since the inception of Serendipity in 2005, her company has always worked in teams. She now manages 6 teams of filmmakers that shoot over 100 weddings a year, totaling over 1300 weddings in the course of ten years, and she doesn’t film a single one of them. Her weekends are available to be with her kids and family, and yet her business still makes money for her. Attendees to this presentation can expect to learn the step by step process on how to build teams and manage them. They will have an action plan that they can go home and implement immediately. Pollock will cover topics such as:
How to find good talent
How to edit the workload
How to manage the gear
How to manage the teams
How to sell teams to potential couples
We are excited to have Pollock share her knowledge of business development, sales, and management with our group of filmmakers.
